What is Illustrated Faith?
Illustrated Faith is a influencer based brand that sparked a movement in the creative Christian community. Shanna Noel, the founder of Illustrated Faith, began using her scrapbooking talent in a journaling Bible in 2014 as a way to continue her worship and study and integrate with her creativity. Since then, the movement has grown and influenced Bible publishers, other faith bloggers, and many consumers. Shanna established Illustrated Faith as a place online for people to come be creative together, but it is also a company that sells art supplies and has various workshops.
How does Illustrated Faith reach their demographic?
The company uses various online and offline technologies used to reach their demographic and maintain the customer relationship. The online approach is very extensive. First, Social Media Marketing is used quite heavily, especially the sites Facebook and Instagram. These two sites are places where inspiring posts are put up daily or so, featuring themes or products being sold by Illustrated Faith. Often these posts are featuring the art of someone on their creative team, someone they are collaborating with in some way, or even someone that is simply a consumer. The collaborations are cross-posted on the other influencer's social media platforms, which means that they are reaching the collaborator's audience as well. The consumer postings encourage consumers to talk about their Illustrated Faith products on social media which exposes the consumer's followers to the brand as well. Sometimes the posts are giveaways. These giveaway posts usually encourage someone to tag a few friends in the post, which exposes more people to the post and brand as well.
Another online technology used is their Website and Blog. The website includes a lot of interactive content, including a forum and comment section where people can get involved. The blog posts usually feature inspiration and how-to's to encourage people to use their Illustrated Faith projects and work on some Bible Journaling. The blogs also include photos. Much of the photos on both the blogs and social media can be found on image sharing sites like pinterest, which is another way of reaching out to new prospects.
Offline, Illustrated Faith has held various workshops. These are advertised on their website and social media, and therefore are usually not a way to reach new customers, but to get current customers more involved and inspired. The workshops are usually more like retreats, and include creative sessions where attendees can be helped through a bible journaling session. These are also community fostering events, which helps cement the brand into people's identities and will keep them coming back for more.
Illustrated Faith's B2C Approach
They have a Business to Customer approach, direct through both online and offline technologies. The focus is on brand awareness, as seen through the focus on social media and blog marketing. This awareness approach is understandable for a small, newer company like Illustrated Faith, and other influencer based brands should take note.
